Happy Thursday!
This morning I woke up feeling more refreshed than usual.
I woke up feeling ready for the day, wanting to get work done, wanting to get out there and start living life to the fullest.
I have been focusing a lot on myself the past few weeks. With my back injury apprehending me from doing my normal everyday activities, I have had time to reflect on my life and my mindset. I have addressed my thoughts that have been collecting dust on a shelf in my mind and allowed them to disappear. Holding onto negative energy will make everything negative. It is hard to let go, but overtime, things will work out and you will be able to move forward. One of the tools I have been using is singing.
I use music as a coping mechanism, as you can tell from my posts. It is important to find a hobby that you can invest your time and love into. Music, singing and theatre have been passions of mine for a while. Whether I am singing in my car, room or on stage, it feels like I am releasing every bottled up emotion, every negative thought, every worry that I have. It all just evaporates. Try to figure out a hobby that will help you through hard times, it could ease your thoughts and, overall, your mind.
Today’s “Song of the Day” is “You Will Be Found” from the musical Dear Evan Hansen. This musical is, without a doubt, my favorite of all time. It revolves around mental illness and how it can affect an individual and those close to them. In this show stopping number, the company sings of having someone to pick you up when you are down. The lyrics touch on how people can feel alone in their feelings, but they never are. Nobody who is going through a rough time is alone. Everyone goes through something, everyone has their own knowledge and experiences. This song speaks to the soul and serves as an anthem for those who suffer. The lyrics state, “even when the dark comes crashing through / when you need someone to carry you / when you’re broken on the ground / you will be found”. I will carry those words with me always.
Remember,
Just Keep Breathing. Xx.
